I'm a Christian girl studying psychology at Western Illinois University. I have two brothers (twins) who are currently in college studying music. (trumpet performance at Cincinatti Conservatory of Music, and vocal performance/education at Western Illinois University). My dad, a band director, is living in Rhode Island with his wife. My mom is a nurse living in Lansing, Illinois. (

I am learning a lot lately about life and how it's not about me, but about God. I have a passion for families - keeping families and marriages together. Someday I'd love to help people keep their marriages and families together.

Life is amazing.

'God is most glorified when we are most satisfied (in Him.)' - John Piper

The foundation for life
It's odd when you look back at your life and see some foreign object - a life to which you are unfamiliar.

Things are constantly changing.

Life isn't about holding it all together and keeping things the same.

Life isn't about holding onto memories and living a wistful, nostalgic, 'if only' or 'what if' existance.

There is absolute Truth. There is one true, constant reality. There is hope in a life that is better than the one we all live here on Earth. This isn't the ultimate end.

God is love. God gives peace and hope. He wants to be with us. He wants to center our lives and give us a purpose. He sent Jesus to show us His love. We killed Jesus because we are so evil we didn't even understand the gift of His love. Yet, God still wants us to come to Him in the name of the Holy one we murdered, to partake in the peace and joy and love and hope and purpose that God originally created us to know. How amazing is this?!

And yet we spit in His face and ignore this gift.
True Joy
Everyone is a sinner.

By God's holy and perfect judgment, all sinners deserve nothing more than death.

But, God loved us even in our sin, and wanted to make us Holy through a relationship with Him.

But, because God is Holy, our sin built a wall between us and Him.

So, God sent His Holy Son to come and pay our debt and clear the path between us and God.

So, if we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was sent to give us hope in a relationship with God, and accept this free gift of salvation, repenting of our sin, we are accepted into the unchanging, constant, loving arms of the Holy God who created us.

Being in those arms is true joy. Being in those arms is absolute love and peace that passes our human understanding. Being in those arms is what life is all about.

This could be my song, I think--- or at least one of them
He was a friend to sinners
He was a gentle man
Beatiful, humble Master plan
His voice could pierce the darkness
Quiet the angry sea
I hear Him saying "Follow Me"
I look in your eyes and I tell you these things
But somehow I know that it's hard to believe

Could you believe if I really was like Him
if I lived all the things that I said
If for a change I would kneel down before you
And serve you instead
Could you believe

He was the Lamb of Mercy
Undying hope of man
Waiting for Love to come again
He is the Light of Heaven
Radiant Prince of Peace
I hear Him saying "Follow Me"
I look in your eyes and I tell you these things
But somehow I know that it's hard to believe

Could you believe if I carried my own cross
If I saw that the children were fed
If for a moment I held my opinion
and quietly led
Could you believe

I am meant to be a pure reflection of the truth
So above it all I pray
that I will not obscure the view

Could you believe if I stood here transparent
And through me you could look in His eyes
Could you believe if you saw right inside
And there was no disguise
Could you believe if I really was like Him
If I lived all the words that I said
If it was clear that I held in my heart
What I know in my head
Could you believe
Looking at me
Could you believe?

YOU keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on YOU, because he trusts in YOU.
